The Challenge
The current Meijer applicant process was cumbersome, too complex and the applicant home page was confusing. The Information Technology organization at Meijer had challenges with providing adequate availability, reliability and usability of the Recruiting system due the current implementation. In order to improve the applicant experience at Meijer and more throroughly leverage the PeopleSoft v8.9 Recruiting Solutions product, Meijer decided to re-evaluate theirexisting applicant processes and product configuration.
The Solution
Meijer is leveraging Collaborative Solutions Optimization Services for PeopleSoft Enterprise. The scope of the project included the identification and implementation of delivered or configurable solutions by September 2008, the start of Meijer’s busy hiring season. This approach allows Meijer to more comprehensively leverage the rich functionality delivered in the PeopleSoft Recruiting Solutions, in addition provide a lower level of effort to support the product due to customizations. Longer term recommendations were provided to Meijer to further enhance the Recruiting System and build a foundation for their broader Talent Management strategy.
The Results
In order to successfully meet Meijer’s timeline and requirements, Collaborative Solutions provided key Talent Management resources to lead functional and technical roles during this optimization. This included items such as delivered configuration changes, removing legacy enhancements and streamlining the application process. This work also entailed reporting design/development/testing and knowledge transfer to properly support the system. Meijer has been quick to adapt these changes and is now poised to be a Recruiting Leader in the Retail Marketplace and continue to exceed their customer and communities needs.
